Frida Kahlo described herself as the “daughter of the Mexican revolution”. At the age of 18, she had a serious accident with painful consequences for the remaining 28 years of her life. She painted around 70 self-portraits. She also led an exciting life. Surrounded by a macho society that allowed her partner Diego Rivera to live out his immorality in public, while she had to stage her rendezvous in secret.
